UWC Rector Visits Confucius Institute of Chinese Medicine at UWC

On June 19, 2025, Professor Robert Balfour, Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Western Cape (UWC), visited the Confucius Institute of Chinese Medicine at UWC, accompanied by staff from the Rector’s Office.

Dr. Umesh Bawa , Director of the International Relations Office, joined the Chinese Directors and teachers in welcoming the guests. During the visit, Professor Balfour toured the Institute and experienced traditional Chinese tea culture. The visit demonstrated the university leadership’s strong interest in and support for the Institute’s work in teaching and cultural exchange.
