
Course Description

Beginners Chinese
Completing the first level will provide you with a solid foundation for future studies and enable you to engage in basic conversations in Chinese.
We will send the class information and registration link once the first year students have arrived, to give everyone the opportunity to register.

Pre-Intermediate Chinese
If you have basic Chinese skills and wish to enhance them or if you have completed HSK 1, feel free to join us as we work together to improve our Chinese language skills. A deposit of R100 for the course books is required in cash on the first day, and it will be refunded if you attend most classes or return the books to us.

Intermediate Chinese
The Intermediate Chinese course is tailored for beginners who have acquired a broader proficiency in Chinese, encompassing skills in listening, reading, and basic writing. This course duration is one year. There is a R100 course fee for UWC students, R800 for outside learners. This course is taught in hybrid fashion, online and offline.

Conversational Chinese for Beginners
This course is designed to learn Chinese language in an easy, relaxing and effective manner by using real-life scenarios, aiming for rudimentary daily communication.

Dao Yin Exercise
Join us for Dao Yin exercise, an ancient Chinese martial art that seamlessly combines physical activity with meditation. This gentle and flowing exercise is suitable for all fitness levels and ages. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced practitioner, our classes are designed to accommodate all levels. Remember to dress in clothes that do not hinder your movement.

Basic Theories of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture
Are you a CHS student? Or a medical student? Or interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine? Then this class is for you!
Term 1
We will learn some basic knowledge of Chinese medicine first 30 minutes. The following 15 minutes will be spent learning Eight-form Tai Chi(八式太极), which is a simplified, beginner-friendly variant of traditional Tai Chi.
Term 2
We will learn some basic knowledge of Chinese medicine for the first 30 minutes. The following 15 minutes will be spent learning Baduanjin(八段锦), a self-care wellness exercise for those who exert themselves in ways that might cause physical and spiritual problems, who work at computers or stand by machines all day long, who travel often and do not have time to eat regularly and who suffer from certain tensions that cause fatigue.
