On February 26, the teaching team of the Confucius Institute of Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape (CI at UWC) visited the UWC Innovation Hub to host an engaging roadshow for faculty members from the Faculty of Community and Health Science. The event aimed to introduce the institute’s teaching and cultural programs while laying the foundation for deeper collaboration with the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
During the event, Dr. Wu Changhong, the foreign co-director of CI at UWC, provided an in-depth overview of the institute’s mission, educational activities, academic exchanges, research collaborations, and service offerings.
This roadshow not only strengthened ties between CI at UWC and the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences but also opened new possibilities for future cooperation in TCM education and cultural promotion. Moving forward, the Confucius Institute at UWC will continue serving as a bridge to enhance medical and cultural exchanges between China and South Africa.
Associate Professor Sun Haofeng, the Chinese co-director of the institute, and local teacher Wilma Hugo also attended the event.
