Writer: Confucius InstituteConfucius Institute

On February 10, the Confucius Institute of Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape officially commenced its new semester. This term, the institute offers HSK Level 1-4 offline courses as well as online HSK courses, attracting numerous Chinese language learners and demonstrating their strong interest in learning Chinese. Under the guidance of their teachers, students are embarking on a new learning journey.

In the classroom, instructors employ engaging and interactive teaching methods, incorporating multimedia resources and exercises to help students master Chinese more efficiently. Additionally, the introduction of the online HSK Level 1 course provides greater convenience, enabling more learners to study Chinese anytime and anywhere.

As the global influence of the Chinese language continues to grow, an increasing number of South African students are choosing to learn Chinese to expand their academic and career opportunities. The Confucius Institute at UWC remains committed to enhancing teaching quality, helping students gain a better grasp of the language, and serving as a bridge to promote cultural exchange and understanding between China and South Africa.
