Confucius Institute Lecturer Wilma Hugo (于静) first introduced the origins and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival and then invited everyone to taste the delicious red bean paste zongzi. Iris Wu (武长虹) , the director of the Confucius Institute stated that this event was not only an inheritance and promotion of traditional culture but also a powerful embodiment of Sino-South African cultural exchange. The Confucius Institute will continue to be committed to promoting cultural exchanges between China and South Africa, organizing more colorful cultural activities and encourage more students to learn about Chinese language and Chinese culture.
