The Confucius Institute at the University of the Western Cape Hosts International Chinese Language Day Events

On 20 April 2026, in celebration of International Chinese Language Day, the Confucius Institute of Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape held a well-received event titled “Lighting Up Dreams – A Cultural Journey from Acupuncture to Tea.” More than 60 students and staff took part.

The event focused on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and offered a mix of talks and hands-on activities, giving participants a practical and engaging introduction to Chinese culture.

In the herbal medicine session, a TCM teacher explained the basic properties of common herbs and their role in everyday wellness. The talk was clear and relatable. After that, participants got creative by turning herbs into small items like hairpins and necklaces. This hands-on craft activity helped people connect with herbal culture in a fun and memorable way.

The TCM experience also included acupuncture and cupping treatments, carried out by qualified practitioners. Each participant received personal attention, with the practitioners explaining how the treatments worked and why they suited each person’s condition. This made the core ideas of TCM—especially its focus on individual care—easy to understand.

Held under the banner of International Chinese Language Day, the event successfully brought together Chinese language learning and TCM in a lively, down-to-earth format. It added energy to campus life and gave students and staff from different backgrounds a simple, enjoyable way to connect with Chinese culture.

Nice and simple content, easy to read and understand without any confusion at all. Playing Geo dash always connects with rhythm gameplay, timing control, and obstacle navigation where every move depends on focus and smooth flow in levels.

I found eggy car through a forum recommendation and honestly it’s one of the better physics driving games online right now. Simple idea, but very well executed.

Thank you for sharing this insightful post about International Chinese Language Day! The event's celebration of culture and connection resonates deeply with my experience learning Mandarin, where I found a sense of level devil community. It's wonderful to see institutions like the Confucius Institute fostering such valuable dialogues. Keep up the great work!
