Hello 2023, goodbye 2022!

Dear teachers and students

It has been three years since the Confucius Institute at UWC was launched before the COVID-19 pandemic. CI is a home for those passionate about Chinese Culture and language.

China and South Africa have long histories and splendid cultures and represent Oriental and African civilisations, respectively. As a new project landed in South Africa, we learned from each other, and we were encouraged to appreciate the attractiveness of the language to savour its rich historical and cultural connotation. It will help us better understand the two countries' past, present and future.

Confucius Institute is a platform for all of us. A platform for learning and sharing heightened ambition, broadens mindsets and enables us to be open, inclusive and willing to engage in both countries and become supporters, participants and contributors in China-South Africa cooperation.

We are grateful for all your support and participation throughout 2020, 2021 and 2022. The New Year is coming; we hope 2023 brings abundant joy, prosperity, love, and blessings! We wish you a Happy New Year!
